Lubricating Eye Drops
Nova Tears + Omega 3 Preservative Free Lubricating Eye Drops is designed to provide superior lubrication and protection for dry, irritated eyes, particularly in patients experiencing evaporative dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction, where the natural lipid layer of the tear film is deficient or unstable. This advanced formulation builds on the proven lipid-layer technology of the original Nova Tears eye drops by adding concentrated, plant-derived Omega-3 fatty acids (ethyl esters of DHA and/or EPA) for enhanced ocular surface support.
The two active components work synergistically. Perfluorohexyloctane — the same water-free compound found in original Nova Tears — forms a protective lipid layer over the tear film, significantly reducing tear evaporation and restoring lipid layer thickness. The added Omega-3 fatty acids, which are of entirely plant origin (making this product suitable for vegans), contribute additional nourishment to the ocular surface tissues and may support the long-term health of the meibomian glands that produce the natural lipid layer. Together, these components address both the immediate symptom relief of dry eye and its underlying lipid-layer deficiency.
Nova Tears + Omega 3 is water-free, preservative-free, phosphate-free, and antimicrobial by nature — eliminating the need for chemical preservatives. The formula also contains butylhydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylhydroxytoluene (BHT) as antioxidants to ensure product stability. Each 3ml bottle can be used for eight weeks after opening, providing up to 150 doses. Use one drop per affected eye up to four times daily, or as recommended by your eye care professional. Allow at least 15 minutes between this product and any other eye medication.
